Mike Wall is an independent business consultant with extensive experience in developing and managing high technology businesses. From 2002 through 2007, he was the general manager of Intel Corporation's Storage Group, based in Chandler, Arizona, where he was responsible for managing the P&L and all aspects of product and business development for Intel's $500M storage business. He was a founding member of the management team that started this business for Intel in the late 90's. As a leading supplier of storage technology to the computer industry, Mike worked closely with the large multi-national OEMs that manufacture and distribute servers, workstations, and storage solutions. This resulted in explosive growth in the number of systems shipped, as well as the creation of new product categories for small business and the home.
From 1994 through 1996, Mike was the general manager of Intel's Supercomputer Systems Division. His division led the introduction of Intel's x86 architecture into the high performance computing market with massively parallel systems. In partnership with the U.S. Government, the team developed and shipped the world's fastest computer to Sandia National Lab in 1997 (the first TeraFLOPS system). Prior to joining the Intel Corporation in 1992, Mike was an area general manager at Cray Research, responsible for North American Operations. He also held several marketing management positions at IBM in New York City.
He serves on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Sports Foundation. Mike earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and completed his Masters of Management Sciences, Harriman College for Urban and Policy Sciences, at SUNY Stony Brook.
