Nirvanix FTPProxy

The FTP Proxy is an FTP Server that allows you to connect to the Nirvanix Storage Delivery Network^TM (SDN) through your favorite Windows FTP Client to localhost and access your Nirvanix account. This will enable simple uploading, downloading and other file operations through the FTP Protocol.

The application runs in a Windows console window that lets you view the active log as the system works. When the application is started it will bind to the address and port that was specified in the config (through the installer). A standard FTP Client can be used to connect to this IP Address. The login / password to the server is either the master or child account at Nirvanix for the application key provided. The files and folders displayed will be from the Nirvanix account.

Installation Instructions

• Step 1: Download and execute the installer, you will need the application key and application name for the Nirvanix Master account you wish to access via the FTP Proxy. You can access your application key and application name from the Nirvanix Management Portal (nmp.nirvanix.com).
• Step 2: Enter in the application key, application name, binding ip and port. You can use any ip as long as it doesn’t conflict with another ip on your network. If you leave it blank then the proxy can be accessed by localhost instead of an ip address from your FTP application.
• Step 3: Finish the installation and run the application. Once running do not close the console window, it needs to remain open. Launch your favorite FTP client and enter in the binding ip address or localhost as the FTP site address. You then need to enter in the login and password for your Nirvanix Master account or Nirvanix Child Account. You should now be able to connect to your Nirvanix account via your FTP application. If you experience issues make sure your application key and name are correct then verify that you login and password are correct.
